A deserted teenager who was “addicted to a certain kind of sadness” got revenge on his former girlfriend by forcing her to watch him hack her mother and new boyfriend to death with an ax before he killed himself.
Brian Douglas White, 19, who has quotes from the crime drama all over his Facebook page, began his deadly killing spree at his 17-year-old ex-girlfriend’s Detroit home at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
He is said to have murdered Desiree Staperfene’s mother, Angela Kim Staperfene, 46, and Desiree’s new boyfriend Jacob Lee Burns, 19, before pointing a gun at himself, police said.
Desiree, 17, escaped after a fight with White.
She called police around 12:20 p.m., police officials said.
According to reports, Desiree, an aspiring model and senior at Stevenson High School, was hospitalized, treated and later released.
Neighbors and classmates said the teen was a “happy, outgoing and compassionate girl who was raised in a loving home.”
Meanwhile, chilling details about White have surfaced.
His Facebook account, which has since been deleted, tells of his troubled mind and a disturbing obsession with the film American Psycho, released in 2000.
His profile is a mix of esoteric musings and quotes from the film, including, “Did I mention I’m completely insane?”
The cover of his chronicle showed a gory scene with blood splattered on a white mattress and a wooden bedside table.
He posted messages like “You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness” and said he was “desperate to connect.”

Friends and neighbors in the tranquil town are shocked by the news.
Classmate Amanda Mellville told myFOXdetroitt, “She’s (Desiree) a good friend of mine.
“When I saw the news I was about to cry because I thought she was in trouble. I mean, I still feel sorry for her, but it’s sad.”
Neighbor Lisa Collins told The Detroit News that White confronted his ex-lover at school earlier in the week and she rejected him.

She added, “Our hearts go out to the families of those who died.”
He added that the investigation is “still a work in progress”.
Family and friends left tributes, including a candle and flowers, near the home last night.
Nancy Radtke told the Detroit Free Press that 46-year-old mother Angela Kim Staperfene, who was married, was a strong woman.
Ms Radtke said: “If Angie had anything to do with defending herself I’m sure she walked out in a glow of glory. She was a lively person.
“Angie always wanted the best for her daughter, always wanted the best for her daughter.”
Livonia is a large suburb in the Detroit metro area. At the 2010 census, it had just under 100,000 residents.
Although it’s considered an affluent area — with a median household income of $65,000 — it’s been hit hard by the recession.
Residents describe the neighborhood — full of mid-century brick ranch homes — as family-oriented and safe.

(CBS/AP) LIVONIA, Mich. – Livonia Police are investigating what appears to be a double murder-suicide case in which authorities say a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s house, hurt her mother and her new boyfriend, hurt the girl and then shot himself.
Lt. Thomas Goralski says the unidentified 17-year-old ex-girlfriend called Livonia police around 12:20 p.m. Wednesday and said two people were dead and she was injured. When officers arrived, they found three dead.
CBS Detroit reports that police say a preliminary investigation identified the killer as 19-year-old Brian D. White. The lieutenant says White killed 46-year-old Angela Staperfene and 19-year-old Jacob L. Burns with ax blows to the head.
Police said it appears the relationship between the 17-year-old and White recently ended. Authorities say White also assaulted his ex-girlfriend before committing suicide. He was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. She was treated in a hospital and discharged.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Livonia Mayor Jack Kirksey said the investigation was “a work in progress.”
Friends left a candle and flowers near the house on Wednesday evening.
Girlfriend Nancy Radtke said Staperfene is a strong person. “If Angie had anything to do with defending herself, I’m sure she walked out in a blaze of glory,” Radtke said. “She was a lively person.”
Goralski says White lived in Livonia, a city of 100,000 people about 15 miles west of Detroit.

Brian Douglas White went to the home of former girlfriend Desiree Staperfene in Livonia and killed 19-year-old Jacob Lee Burns and 46-year-old Angela Kim Staperfene before shooting himself dead early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Desiree was also present but managed to escape and alert the authorities.
The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The killing spree apparently began at 7:30 a.m., Livonia Mayor Jack Kirksey told the Detroit Free Press. The mother was killed first in a bedroom and the daughter called 911 around 12:20 p.m., nearly five hours later, Kirksey told the newspaper.
White, who was 19, had confronted Desiree at school earlier in the week and was rejected, neighbor Lisa Collins told the Detroit News.
