Who is Brittani Marcell Story and Dateline, Is Justin Hansen Already Released

Who is Brittani Marcell? History and Dateline, is Justin Hansen already published? – Justin Hansen is released after 15 years. So when is its official release date? Let’s take a look at what’s next.

Justin Hansen is a convicted felon who was sentenced to ten years in prison.

The police and investigative team made the seemingly impossible possible, and as a result, justice was brought to victim Brittani Marcell.

Dateline Who Is Justin Hansen Age, Wife, Family, Release Date & Net Worth – Brittani Marcell Story

The story of Brittani Marcell is featured in Dateline: Secrets Uncovered, which is really inspiring for those who don’t want to face their past.

Brittani, who was on her way to dinner with her mother Diane Marcell, was suddenly hit with a shovel by a masked person.

Brittani Marcell’s mother, Diane Marcell, who was going home to meet Brittani for lunch, opened the front door to find her daughter lying on the floor right inside the house, covered in blood, and a man standing over her, holding a shovel .

Diane says the man then took a knife from her kitchen and threatened her, but Diane was able to escape the home and call 911.

The man escaped – bursting through a window – leaving Brittani Marcell fighting for her life. Doctors determined that she had a broken left arm, fractured left wrist, multiple skull fractures, fixed pupils, and minimal brain activity. She says that her mother, who came to her on time, saved her.

Brittani Marcell’s condition was assessed as critical and she was placed in a medically induced coma. There was no guarantee Brittani Marcell would ever wake up, and if she did, no one was sure she would ever be the same again.

After 10 days in a coma, Brittani Marcell regained consciousness but lost all memory of the attack. She would have to learn to read, write, walk and even swallow again. But after years of rehabilitation, she would graduate from high school and eventually even graduate from college.

“It was scary after they told me what happened,” Brittani Marcell told 20/20. “I thought I was in a bad car accident. They say, “This is far from what happened to you. You were traumatized with a shovel in your house.’ It was hard to understand.”

As Brittani told Marcell, although Justin did not take her life and only physically tormented her, he took her living zeal and broke up with her. She still lives in fear because of the trauma he caused.

After the severe beating, the teenager had to read, write, walk and even learn to swallow again.

Brittani Marcell Attacked By Shovel In Home

For years, investigators could not determine who intended to hurt Brittani Marcell, a bubbly 17-year-old, until new technology and the victim’s blurry memory helped bring her attacker to justice.

Diane Marcell was looking forward to having lunch with her 17-year-old daughter Brittani – when she opened the door to the family’s Albuquerque home and made a grisly discovery.

Brittani lay on the floor covered in blood.

“I see a person that I’ve never seen in my house before and he’s holding a shovel and he’s walking across my living room, dropping the shovel and walking through the dining room and into the kitchen and I look at him and him tells me I’ll be next while he reaches for a butcher knife,” Diane recalls on “Dateline: Secrets Uncovered,” which airs Wednesdays at 8:7c on Oxygen.

Terrified, Diane ran out of the house screaming. Someone passing by the house heard them and bravely decided to run into the house.

The attacker was gone – fleeing through a dining room window – but Brittani, a once lively and bubbly teenager, was on the ground fighting for her life.

She was taken to a local hospital, where Diane said doctors “didn’t think she would survive” when investigators entered the scene of the normally quiet Albuquerque neighborhood on September 11, 2008.

Albuquerque Police Detective Jason Morales was shocked by the “very brutal” nature of the attack. An unknown assailant hit Brittani with a shovel so hard that the left part of her skull was shattered.

“Once we were able to go in, you could see it was quite violent,” he told Dateline reporter Andrea Canning.

The assailant had left behind a bloodied shovel, a knife, and a roll of duct tape, but he’d also inadvertently left another critical clue. After jumping out of the dining room window, the attacker had also left his DNA in a small drop of blood found on a shard of glass from the broken window.

Morales believed this could be the key to cracking the case, but after he uploaded the DNA to the national CODIS database, an FBI-run database of DNA profiles from across the country, there were no hits.

With no obvious suspect in the case, Morales decided to re-examine Brittani’s life in the months leading up to the brutal attack.

“It just seemed so personal,” he said. “It seemed to me at the time that we were looking at someone who either knew Brittani or knew someone in the family or there was something, there’s more of a connection.”

Morales delved into Brittani’s social life, checking on a guy she’d sort of been dating at the time, friends and those who might have interacted with the teen at her job at a cottonwood mall sunglass kiosk.

Police also considered whether the attacker might have had a connection to Brittani’s brother or any of her five sisters – but nothing came up with promising leads.

“Really, at that point we didn’t have a suspect at all, so it’s all of them,” Morales said.

Back at the hospital, Brittani’s family feared the attacker would strike again and the teenager was hospitalized under an assumed name.

Her prognosis didn’t look good. She had part of her brain removed in intensive care and was battling meningitis. Brittani’s ear canal had been crushed, leaving her deaf in one ear and her optic nerve severed during severe beatings to her head.

“We spoke to her and she blinked her eyes and smiled, but we knew at that point there was a lot of paralysis,” said her mother, Diane.

For three tense months, the family took turns sitting at her bedside until family doctors said it appeared Brittani would survive.

She was discharged from the hospital five months after the attack. Still terrified that the unknown assailant might return, Diane Brittani and two of her sisters moved to Texas, where they found an intensive rehabilitation program for them.

“She didn’t know why she couldn’t walk, why she couldn’t eat, why she had to relearn all those things,” Diane said.

dr Lori Wright, a neuropsychologist who worked with the teen, told Dateline: Secrets Uncovered that Brittani was often “confused” and cried a lot, but through cognitive-behavioral therapy — a process that retrains the brain through repetition — Brittani started to recover their skills.

Brittani herself, who was permanently deaf in one ear and blind in the left eye, credits her mother’s determination in helping her reclaim a new life.

“She’s been with me to every doctor’s appointment, every surgery, it’s like she’s someone I look up to a lot, she’s like my best friend now,” Brittani told Dateline.

But the attack had also done significant damage to Brittani’s memory, and she couldn’t remember most of her high school career — including who attacked her that fateful morning.

For years the case remained unsolved, even after a new detective, Jodi Gonterman, took over the case.

Determined to solve it, Gonterman researched 75 different men provided by the family as potential suspects and encouraged Brittani to undergo hypnosis in 2014 to try to recover memories she may have been repressing from her attack would have.

Under hypnosis, Brittani was able to describe her attacker, identifying him as a tall man with a fair complexion and spiky hair, but she was unable to give a name.

However, she provided a possible lead by suggesting the man could have been someone she knew from work, or possibly a customer of the sunglass kiosk where she worked.

A few years later, in 2016, Brittani told her family that for some reason the name “Justin” kept popping into her head, but she didn’t know why. Her sisters remembered a popular, handsome guy named Justin Hansen who had worked at the mall, but they had no reason to believe he would ever have harmed Brittani.

“He worked at Hollister and he came to my kiosk and stuff and he was, you know, sitting there and chatting and stuff,” Brittani said of what she remembered from the friendship.

Brittani gave the name to Gonterman, who put it aside while she pursued other avenues on the case.

For more information on who investigators might be looking for, Gonterman turned to Parabon NanoLabs, a DNA technology company that had just begun pioneering analysis that allowed scientists to identify a person’s genetic characteristics, such as their ethnicity, hair and to determine eye color through DNA.

She didn’t focus on Hansen again until she received Parabon’s report and noticed an uncanny resemblance between Hansen and the sketch created by the lab.

“When we saw this composite, I was like, ‘Oh my God,'” she said. “I didn’t want to keep my hopes up because I didn’t want to be disappointed again.”

Gonterman and another detective visited Hansen, who was now a married father of four. While reminiscing about Brittani, he downplayed their relationship, saying that he “maybe passed by” but never “like a meetup.”

She had cops follow him and secretly collect a DNA sample from some McDonalds that he dumped in the trash and eventually had it taken to the crime scene.

Although Hansen insisted he had not attacked Brittani, he agreed not to challenge attempted first-degree murder as part of a plea deal in the case.

“I mean, I want to go to court, I wanted to clear my name, but I just felt like the odds were against me and I didn’t want to risk being 50 to 60 years away from my kids and that’s what got me kind of driven into the plea,” he told Dateline, a day before he was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Brittani believes she was attacked because Hansen was “a little jealous” and believes she turned down his advances before the attack.

By the time he was convicted, Brittani had already endured 22 painful surgeries, but she planned to return for another operation to try and regain her smile, which she had lost due to paralysis.

“I’ll try,” she said.
