Desiree is a Democratic strategist and advisor. She is deeply rooted in community engagement, political campaigning and government affairs. In 2008, she volunteered for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign in Southwest Ohio. Desiree worked her way up from volunteer to White House staffer and intern during President Barack Obama’s first term.

Desiree has also worked as a lobbyist and director of justice at the League of Conservation Voters and as a senior advisor for Child Care Aware of America.
During her campaign, Desiree pledged to work to get sane gun laws passed, to work hard for reproductive justice, to work to protect the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, to protect Roe v. Wade to support criminal justice reform and work to bring more federal funding to the district to create more technology, cybersecurity and transportation jobs.
Desiree earned a B.A. in Communications from Xavier University and a J.D. by Georgetown Law. She also attended the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University.
History shows that when black women gain political power, we advocate policies that benefit multiple communities. Now is the time to elect more black women to represent us at decision-making tables.
