Eric got his first skateboard sponsorship from a company called H-Street, co-founded by Mike Ternasky and Tony Magnusson. His team included Matt Hensley and Danny Way. Koston d not stay with the company long as he was looking for a larger entity which led to his departure from the company.
In 1992 he joined 101 and after working with them for two years he joined the girls team. During this time he appeared in videos such as Pretty Sweet, Goldfish, Yeah Right and Mouse. For several years, Eric was the lead driver in the eS brand team. The brand held Eric Koston eS Game of Skate annually for several years. He also appeared in an eS video called Menikmati where he returned to his native Bangkok.
Koston left eS in 2006 and joined the Lakai roster, only to leave shortly after and join the Nike SB team. The company greeted Eric with a signature shoe called “Eric Koston 1” that was won by a consumer contest called “Mr. Control everything.”
Nike launched other Koston signature shoes like Eric Koston 2, Nike SB Koston 3 Hyperfeel and Koston 2 IT. For his part, Koston sa the experience of working with Nike was the best he’s had in his career.

Eric Koston
Eric Koston (born April 29, 1975) is an American professional skateboarder. He was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Now he lives in California in the United States.
Eric grew up in San Bernardino, California. He started skateboarding in 1986 at the age of 11 when his brother gave him his old skateboard. He quickly took up skateboarding and later went to a skate camp where he met Eddie Elguera who saw his potential as a professional skateboarder. He was in 10th grade when he dropped out of school to become a full-time skateboarder.
In 1992 Koston moved to Los Angeles where Natas Kaupas brought him to the 101 team. 101 he established himself as a leading switch stance skateboarder. He did many switch tricks like the nollie flip nose slide and the switch kick flip backside tail slide. He also did a switch 360 flip down the Embarcadero 7. He eventually got sponsored and became a pro skater in 1993 when he joined the H-Street team and moved into the team house. Later, in 1993, he founded the clothing company Fourstar. He also invented many skateboard tricks. Though he didn’t invent it himself, Koston’s main signature trick is the “K Grind” (for Koston) after mastering it and showing it off in a video. The “K grind” is just a crooked grind. His poise is goofy, but he’s known for his ability to switch skate. He has the technical ability and dedication to practice new tricks, either on the street or in competition. He is known for commercializing the competitive horse-derived game S.K.A.T.E. Eric Koston appears in the Electronic Arts (EA Games) video games Skate 2 and Skate 3. He can also be seen in the Laikai video entitled Fully Flared doing a perfect 360 false flip down the four steps. Eric Koston still skateboards. He can be seen in the Battle of the Berrics, a game by S.K.A.T.E. in the shared skate park.
