Bonnington began his Formula 1 career as a data engineer at Jordan Grand Prix in the early 2000s.[Quantify] During his time with the Silverstone team he worked with the likes of Giorgio Pantano and Timo Glock.[3] He then joined the Honda team as an understudy to longtime race engineer Andrew Shovlin, becoming Jenson Button’s performance engineer.
