Chris Blose is in the final races of his sixteen-year pro career. The 34-year-old says he still feels competitive in the 250 West Coast region thanks to the continued support of the AJE Motorsports/Motul/GASGAS team, but the father-of-two also understands the risks that come with racing and is ready to see what else life has to offer.
The rider candidly says the crash he was pinched in at the 2021 Atlanta Three Supercross and the resulting concussion and thumb injury influenced his decision. “After I was flown out of life, my wife and family became very concerned. They had no idea what was going on, no one was really responding to them, and it was scary. I have two kids now and I’m thinking about them and ‘is it worth it,'” he told us under the team rig.
But the fall is also the reason why he will be competing in 2022. “I didn’t want to go out like that, so it was an easy decision to come back,” he said. “I can’t go out with someone else who blows me up. I didn’t like the fact that it was my last race.”
Blose is already working on the next part of his life with Fenix Suspension, a Race Tech certified center that will serve his native Arizona.
We spent some time with CB discussing his ambitions for 2022, the highlights of the years and what it will be like to race in front of his hometown crowd at the Glendale Supercross for the last time.

One of the most accomplished dirt bike riders from the state of Arizona saddles up for a final season in 2022. Phoenix native Chris Blose is preparing to hang up the helmet after 17 years of riding pro on some of the best dirt bike tracks around the world .
Chris grew up in a racing family and first got on a dirt bike when he was 3 years old. His father Bob and uncle Chappy are two local legends in Arizona. The brothers paved the way for their next generation. Chris and his older brother Michael began professional dirt bike racing careers and found success in the process.
“We grew up riding dirt bikes just for fun and it just escalated to what it is now,” said Blose.
Blose attended North Canyon High School while working his way through the motocross ranks. The desert rider turned pro in 2006 at the age of 18 and both competed at the highest levels of the sport for more than a decade.
The hero of his hometown rolls out one last time for Monster Energy Supercross outside his home state on Saturday night, ready to soak up the atmosphere one last time as an Arizona rider.
“Man, that’s bittersweet,” Blose said. “I don’t think it’s hit me yet, but when I’m just taking in moments with the fans and the starting line and everything else that comes with it, just try to take that in, you don’t get that feeling anywhere else. ”
