But what is hyperpop? Hyperpop is a fairly modern genre of music, very open and flexible. A staple of the LGBTQ+ community, often showcasing many talented gay and transgender artists. Hyperpop can be described as a type of music that takes an element of popular music to the extreme. Hence the flexibility of hyperpop as there are all kinds of songs, some tending towards a more futuristic modern sound, for example SOPHIE’s “Faceshopping”, or others reaching a more 2000’s style, typical “Paris Hilton” sound, e.g Sample most of Ayesha Erotica’s discographies.
The “sixteen” singer began her career in 2015 releasing tracks on Soundcloud, a platform used by many aspiring, aspiring and independent musicians. However, 2016 saw the release of her first debut album entitled Big Juicy, comprised of 8 hyperpop tracks including Coked Up, Cocaine Superstar, Cadillacs and the fan favorite Sixteen. The vocal, unique personality we see through her music isn’t all that defines the artist. Unfortunately, many disturbing allegations have been leveled against them.
