He won a Heart Land Emmy Award for his special Survivor’s Story. He was also honored with another Heart Land Emmy for commentary “A Real Oklahoman,” an update of his father Jack’s 1984 commentary. Kevin was nominated for an Emmy in 1998 for his feature film Power of Prayer.
The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters gave Kevin the 2004 Outstanding Achievement Award for Best Feature Film for his coverage of Survivor’s Story. The Arkansas Associated Press first prize for the New York Times Company documentary The Family Farm: The Broadcast Group presented Kevin with the 2004 Chairman’s Team Award for his efforts on KFOR’s triple cast election watch team on the night of the November 2004 presidential election. He is the eldest of her three sons, all of whom would eventually follow their father into the broadcasting industry. His younger brothers Kent Jacob Ogle (born June 11, 1960) and Walter Kelly Ogle (born September 24, 1961) are also currently working as television journalists in the Oklahoma City market (Kent joined KFOR-TV in 1993 as a contract reporter). before being named co-host for weekdays and main midday presenter in 1996; Kelly joined CBS affiliate KWTV-DT [Channel 9] in 1990 as a lunchtime anchor and business reporter before being named weekday co-anchor in 1993).

In 1983 he received one of four Associated Press Awards for Best General News Reporting. He received an honorable mention from the Arkansas Associated Press in 1987 for the investigative report series Road to Recovery. He joined KFOR in 1993 as a weekend speaker and general assignment reporter before being promoted to weekend speaker in 1996.
Ogle has also directed the Keep the Music Alive project, which collects musical instruments for the Oklahoma City public school system. Ogle also has a monthly column on family and children’s issues in local publication Metro Family Magazine.
