I don’t see where I want to stop anytime soon, but I also don’t want to stick to the idea that I have to be on the road.”

While visiting Sacramento SPCA, the beautiful couple met CeCe and Pearly. They loved her from the start. And so, without further thought, they agreed to foster the dogs.
CeCe was 14 years old at the time. She once had a family, but she was never allowed to enter their house. She spent her life in a box and when she was old they gave her to the shelter.
Pearly, on the other hand, is a frightened Chihuahua. Like CeCe, she has never set foot outside. She was locked in a cage and then ended up at the shelter. She was so used to being confined in a confined space that she refused to leave her kennel.
The couple had a planned trip in a week. They thought they could get their foster parents out of state and have them adopted along the way, but they were wrong. Since they didn’t own CeCe and Pearly, they had to bring them back to the shelter.
Lee and Sydney felt bad knowing they couldn’t bring the dogs. But they made sure to make the most of the week-long time they had. They didn’t treat them any differently than their own dogs.
The days passed quickly and it was time for the couple to return the dogs to the shelter for adoption. Lee cried a lot, but he had no choice. They drove back to the shelter, but there was nobody there apart from the workers and volunteers.
Lee and Sydney stayed at the shelter for three hours, but no adopter showed up. At that moment, they realized that nobody came because CeCe and Pearly had already found their home. The dogs were already part of her pack; They just had to sign the papers to make it official.
It was a pretty crazy decision, the couple agreed. But it was best to add two more dogs to their pack.
