Man falls to his death from Star City ride
A man died Saturday after falling 10 to 15 meters from a roller coaster ride in Pasay City.
Lito Pena, 37, was pronounced dead upon arrival at San Juan de Dios hospital after falling from the Star Flyer, an inverted roller coaster ride in Star City. Pena’s remains were taken to Rizal Funeral Homes.
Star City spokesman Ed de Leon said it was impossible for Pena to fall out of the ride unless he intentionally disengaged from the seat’s harness before it was locked by a computerized control.
A Star Flyer attendant, on the other hand, revealed that Pena had asked if falling from the ride would kill him. Pena’s colleagues also said he asked permission to go to Star City alone.
