I work in a place that creates unique memories for fans, brings joy to an entire region and changes people’s lives not just on Sundays but 365 days a year.
Kevin Demoff D’99, T’06 grew up surrounded by NFL players. His father, Marvin Demoff, was a former public defender turned sports agent for football stars such as John Elway and Junior Seau. As a kid growing up in Los Angeles, Demoff stayed home from school on the morning of the NFL draft. “I grew up with sports, but I was never sure if I wanted to work in sports,” he says.
He attended Dartmouth College where he studied history and art history and was editor of the school newspaper. He considered studying law or becoming a journalist. “I didn’t take any business or math courses that would prepare me for life in business,” he says.
After graduating in 1999, a Dartmouth alum offered him a job at an internet startup called Broadband Sports, which eventually began building websites for NFL teams. He left the company a year later to work as director of football operations for the Los Angeles Avengers, a team in the growing Arena Football League. he was 23
When he was offered a job with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he was faced with a choice: pursue this career in sports or return to school for a crash course in economics. “I figured if I wanted to grow in the industry and stay in a sports management role, going back to business school was the only option,” says Demoff. Choosing Tuck was an easy decision as he had loved Hanover as a student.
During his time at Tuck, he continued to work for the Buccaneers, consulting on the side after class and spending his summer break in Tampa. Like everyone else at Tuck, he went through corporate recruiting and tried to envision his future. “I considered going a different route, but when everyone kept asking me how they could get into the sport, I figured I should stick with it,” he says.
He graduated from tuck on a Sunday in 2006 and started his senior assistant job with the Buccaneers that Monday. He was working there for nearly four years when the St. Louis Rams called with an offer they couldn’t refuse. “The Rams asked me to join them as co-general manager and oversee both the business side and the football side. I saw it as an opportunity to expand my skills,” he says.
In 2016, Demoff was part of a task force led by Rams owner Stan Kroenke to spearhead the Rams’ landmark move back to Los Angeles and bring the team back to his hometown after a 22-year absence. He also helped secure approval for the team’s new 70,000-seat stadium currently under construction at Hollywood Park in Inglewood.
“I had the chance to combine many of the things I learned at Tuck: business strategy, hiring people, dealing with complex personalities and situations,” says Demoff. “I work in media, real estate and every other possible business venture.”
Ask him what he loves most about his job and he’ll tell you it’s the feeling of standing on the sidelines of an NFL game and cheering for 75,000 fans at once. “I work in a place that creates unique memories for fans, brings joy to an entire region and changes people’s lives not just on Sundays but 365 days a year,” says Demoff.

Kevin Demoff is about to lead a team in Los Angeles – for the second time. The Rams executive, who oversaw the arduous relocation process that culminated in the NFL approving the team’s move from St. Louis in January, managed the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League in the early 2000s.
Avengers owner Casey Wasserman hired 23-year-old Demoff at the suggestion of NFL general manager Bruce Allen, then with the Oakland Raiders. Demoff worked for a website developer employed by the Raiders, but he was steeped in football connections through his father, agent Marvin Demoff.
After a few years in the AFL and attending school to earn his MBA, Demoff went to Tampa Bay and worked with the Buccaneers as the right-hand man to Allen, who had also moved to Tampa to become general manager. He joined the Rams in St. Louis in 2009, and Stan Kroenke gained majority control of the team shortly thereafter.
Demoff said the moving process was painful and tough for everyone. “If you try to build a stadium somewhere else and rebuild a team, you will end up either being hugely disappointed or your fans are,” he said. “It’s a really difficult position. I feel terrible for the fans and for the city; Everyone.”
But now, looking ahead, Demoff said his biggest fear is failing the NFL and the league’s 31 other teams. That’s because of the opportunity given to the Rams. “What really keeps me up at night,” he said, “is that the league has given Stan and the Rams their biggest chance in two decades: entry into L.A.”
