Candidate number 26 on the Podemos list for the 2015 Madrid general election led by José Manuel López[8], she was elected MP for the 10th term of the regional legislature and joined the parliamentary group of the Podemos Community of Madrid. At that time, she narrowly entered the Assembly (26th of 27 elected Legislators of Podemos); she made the assumption of the seat conditional on her being able to continue to practice her medical profession on a part-time basis. In December 2017, following a group reshuffle, García became the group’s president, replacing Marco Candela.[9] At this time she also joined the Coordinating Council of the Podemos Comunidad de Madrid.[10]

Associated with the Podemos faction led by Íñigo Errejón,[11] she joined their list for the primary elections in Más Madrid to draft the list for the 2019 Madrid regional elections in March 2019,[12] thereby renewing her seat in the regional elections in May 2019.
