American rapper, Pooh Shiesty has detailed how his 1017 label boss, Gucci Mane kept him out of Memphis wild rap feud Yo Gotti and Young Dolph as he made his way into ‘The Breakfast Club’.
The rapper is pushing his debut mixtape Shiesty Season, and while promoting the project, he also opened up about how his label boss saved him from the infamous spat between the aforementioned ses.
He explained to Charlemagne Tha God that although you have to sign with either of them: Paper Route or CMG in town, he dn’t want to sign with anyone because that’s his mentality.
He noted that when Gucci Mane came along he still had Chopper Gang as he wanted to be a part and wanted to make it three hence it’s called either Chopper Gang, Paper Route or CMG.

Pooh Shiesty explained that when asked how the beef in town could be squashed, Gucci Mane, the 1017 label boss, pondered whether the OGs in town were to blame.
He continued, “Not only am I cool with everyone, but we kind of know each other. I’m sure you know me. Before rap I either went to school with them or they out of my hood or they out of the hood behind my hood. If I fuck with you, I fuck with you. You’ll know if I don’t. Memphis is small bruh, we don’t even have a Westse. West Memphis is Arkansas. Go too far and you’ll be in Mississippi. All you have is east, south and north.”

Pooh Shiesty is basking in the release of his debut mixtape, Shiesty Season, and on Friday (February 5), the Memphis native visited The Breakfast Club to not only promote the mixtape, but also describe how his 1017 label boss has been Gucci Mane kept him out of Memphis. Most Notorious Rap Feud – Yo Gotti and Young Dolph.
“I won’t lie, I never wanted to sign with anyone,” revealed Pu Charlamagne Tha God. “It’s just my mentality. Also if you are in town you have to sign with one of them: Paper Route or CMG. So before Wop came along, I was still Choppa Gang, that’s my name. I wanted it to be like, “Why can’t you sign with Chopper Gang, CMG, or Paper Route?” Then came wop, boom. Perfect.”
When asked how to unite Memphis and put down all feuds in the city, the 1017 rapper opened up about whether the OGs in town are to blame.
“That be it,” said Pooh. “People feel like they don’t want anyone to get past them. I do not care. Pay homage and do the right thing, keep it legitimate. I don’t respect any of that goofy stuff.”
