Taurean Prince Trade

According to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Atlanta Hawks started their offseason with a bang, agreeing to trade with the Brooklyn Nets for Taurean Prince and an unprotected second-round pick in 2021 in exchange for Allen Crabbe, the 2019 First of the Nets, exchange pick (#17) and a 2020 first round pick secured for the lottery.

Full coverage for this 2020 first-rounder, according to ESPN’s Zach Lowe: 2020-2022 secured by lottery, so he’ll be transitioned to two second-rounders, all things consered.

Brooklyn trades Allen Crabbe and No. 17th pick in the 2019 NBA draft and secured 2020 first to Atlanta for Taurean Prince and 2021 second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) June 6, 2019

The swap actually can’t be completed until July 6, when the -we ban closures and groups are officially ready to capitalize on their 2019-20 top spot. As of this writing, Atlanta does not have the compelling financial flexibility to make this exchange, but they will when the new Alliance year begins.

The move removes about $17 million from Atlanta’s accessible top spot for 2019-20 (Crabbe’s salary is $18.5 million for a year as of now), but the option of another draft pick in their coffers for 2019 would be clear show another move is underway or something else will get closer in the next few weeks as Head Supervisor Travis Schlenk has been telling the truth that the group has no desire to add five newcomers to the draft.

He currently has six 2019 picks for exchanges: No. 8, No. 10 and No. 17 in the first round, and No. 35, No. 41 and No. 44 in the second. Further moves are virtually certain as Schlenk and his staff hope to pool the Hawks’ draft resources for 2019.

Wojnarowski elaborated on Atlanta’s agreements, including that the Hawks had hoped to bounce back from No. 10 but may now have enough capacity to climb on June 20: Sovereign has long been on the course hurdle after spreading smacking tbits in January that he was reachable before the February market close. The Ruler is entering his new child’s fourth year on the block contract and had booked a few years here and there for the Hawks to start his trade.

Crabbe is coming to Atlanta for Portland and Brooklyn — he initially signed that contract with the Portland Trail Blazers after ending his first contract with the group before moving to Brooklyn two years earlier. The Nets, hoping to clear the top spot for their vacant organization goals, have now moved him to Atlanta.

This exchange predates the impact of the Atlanta affiliate’s former senior supervisor, Jeff Peterson, who joined the Nets in late May after a long stint with the Hawks.
