Wayne Diamond was born on Long Island, New York,[1] and grew up in Oceanside with three sisters and one brother. His father, Alan, taught accounting at Nassau Community College and Adelphi University. His mother Marilyn was a school teacher.[2] Diamond attended Oceanside High School in his youth.[3]
He later founded the Schneider Diamond’s Run based in New York’s Garment District in the 1970s.[4] He designed for the company in the 1980s[5] until its sale in the 1990s[4] for $110 million.[3] During this time he spent much of his career in the Hamptons.[6] Diamond says he designed every dress Vanna White wore in Wheel of Fortune.[2]
