[KHTS] — A former Santa Clarita man implicated in an alleged hit-and-run operation gave an exclusive interview with KHTS AM-1220 on Tuesday in which he sought to correct what he says were inaccurate media reports of his involvement.Dino Guglielmelli, 53, who lived in the Sand Canyon area of Canyon Country on Macmillan Ranch Road, is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles in lieu of $10 million bail.
He is awaiting trial over allegations that he tried to pay Rick Fuhrmann – a former contractor who worked in the Santa Clarita and Conejo Valleys – $80,000 to marry Guglielmelli’s wife Monica Andreny, a model and aspiring actress who The name behind Skin by Monica’s skin care products is to kill.
Fuhrmann said on Tuesday he befriended Guglielmelli until he felt the situation was no longer safe for Andreny and that he was concerned if he ended his friendship with Guglielmelli Guglielmelli would find someone to kill his wife .
Fuhrmann set out to distract the business owner from Guglielmelli’s growing obsession with retribution for his wife, Fuhrmann said.
The situation reached a boiling point for Guglielmelli during a domestic violence case against his wife, when Guglielmelli claimed his wife lied in court, Fuhrmann said.
Fuhrmann testified how Guglielmelli talked about having his wife arrested or killed. Escalating concerns prompted Fuhrmann to contact authorities, he said.
“I couldn’t allow that at any price,” said Fuhrmann.
In 2009, Guglielmelli’s business, Creation’s Garden, had more than 200 employees and millions of dollars in assets, most of which were sold earlier this year.
He had the resources to help Fuhrmann, and Fuhrmann sought out Guglielmelli as a business partner, but gradually became a friend before becoming concerned about Guglielmelli’s wife.
“All I ever wanted was to start a small online nutritional supplement business,” Fuhrmann said, explaining how he met Guglielmelli. “I had a thought in February 2009 when I was unemployed and overweight and whatnot — my wife was always buying diet pills back then, so I looked at what all the hype was.”
Guglielmelli and Andreny, also known as Monica Olsen, were embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle when Guglielmelli, the former CEO of Creation’s Garden, allegedly hired Fuhrmann to have his wife killed.
Guglielmelli’s legal troubles began shortly after Fuhrmann reported several of Guglielmelli’s recordings and statements to a detective in the Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau.
The meeting between Fuhrmann and sheriff’s department officers led to a luncheon between Fuhrmann and Guglielmelli on October 1, at which Fuhrmann recorded Guglielmelli talking about completing an alleged $80,000 deal to murder Andreny, as evidenced Proceedings submitted to Los Angeles County Superior Court in San Fernando.
The trial was delayed again on April 23 when Assistant District Attorney Emily Cole turned over 500 intercepted jail phone calls made by Guglielmelli to Guglielmelli’s defense attorney, Tony Brooklier.
Both sides are expected in court on June 5, when the trial is reportedly due to begin.
Fuhrmann, who was stripped of everything important to him by that process, including a steady job and his family, has been living out of state for fear of retribution for police cooperation, he said.
The army veteran said his intention all along was to calm Guglielmelli and keep him occupied as Guglielmelli was increasingly anxious to have his wife killed.
He now wrestles with whether he should have gone to officers earlier with the footage he took, as Brooklier is trying to paint him as an opportunist, he said.
“[My friendship with Guglielmelli] became a daily attempt at deception and manipulation,” Fuhrmann said, “but what was more important to me was making sure [Andreny] wasn’t killed.”
A 90-minute taped conversation with Guglielmelli, which Fuhrmann arranged with the help of a Major Crimes Bureau detective, reveals Guglielmelli’s true intention in his own words, Fuhrmann said. A portion of this tape was played by the defense at Guglielmelli’s preliminary hearing.
While Brooklier tried to characterize Fuhrmann as an opportunist who turned on Guglielmelli for his own benefit when their deals didn’t work out, that’s simply not the case, Fuhrmann said.
“I’ve lost everything — I don’t have a wife, I’m separated from my family and friends, I live in constant sorrow,” he said, listing everything he’s lost since contacting authorities.
“It’s not a movie, it’s real and there really is no happy ending. Families have been destroyed, children separated from their parents, some live in fear,” said Fuhrmann. “There are no winners, only the truth.”

Guglielmelli, 53, was convicted in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday of his role in a murder contract involving his estranged wife, former model Monica Olsen, 32. He pleaded no contest to attempted second-degree murder.
Olsen spoke during Wednesday’s sentencing and read out a tearful statement. She said even though Guglielmelli is behind bars, she still fears for her safety.
“He shows little empathy but rather tries to destroy those who love him the most,” she said. “I’ve tried to help him many times throughout our marriage… to no avail.”
The couple was apparently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle and were fighting over custody of their two daughters.
The key piece of evidence in the case was secret audio recordings between Guglielmelli and his friend Richard Fuhrmann.
“You want her 100 percent dead?” Fuhrmann questions over the audio, according to the Los Angeles Attorney’s Office.
“Why shouldn’t I?” says Guglielmelli.
The couple once appeared to have it all, including a sprawling Southern California mansion. Guglielmelli is the founder of Creations Garden, a multimillion-dollar natural products company that distributed Olsen’s hit skincare line – Skin by Monica Olsen – to drugstores nationwide.
After Guglielmelli’s arrest, he lost his company and filed for bankruptcy.
Prosecutor Emily Cole said Guglielmelli’s conspiracy had been in the works for months and was not a case of sudden anger.
“This wasn’t just the one conversation, it was a year-long plan to try this, to try to kill Monica, but the tape was proof,” said Cole.
