INDIANAPOLIS, IND. APRIL 13, 2015 — Lynn Nabors-McNally of Cincinnati, coach and mother of 2014 USTA National Champions John and Caty McNally, was recognized as 2014 Team USA Developmental Coach of the Year at the second annual Team USA Coaching Awards reception on April 6 The awards are part of the USTA Player Development Team USA initiative to partner with development coaches and programs across America.
Nabors-McNally was honored along with legendary coaches Jimmy Evert, Dennis Van Der Meer and John Wilkerson. Tucker Tennis Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma was named 2014 Team USA Developmental Program of the Year. The awards ceremony took place at the ASICS Easter Bowl junior tournament at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.
“Jimmy, Dennis and John have been synonymous with coaching excellence for decades and we are honored to recognize them as Team USA Coaching Legends,” said USTA Player Development Manager Patrick McEnroe. “In addition, Lynn and the team at Tucker Tennis Academy have done an outstanding job over the past year and deserve credit for setting such a high standard for coaching success.”
Nabors-McNally is a renowned junior coach in Cincinnati who has – quite literally – produced two 2014 USTA National Champions. Her son John won the singles and doubles titles at the Boys’ 16s National Championships in Kalamazoo, Michigan, capping a year in which he also won the Boys’ 16s singles titles at the USTA National Clay Court Championships, Easter Bowl and International Spring Championships .
