UFC Bobby Green’s other brother shot last night (Update)
In a very unfortunate turn of events, UFC Lightweight, Bobby Green has just engaged another sibling in an act of violence. This will become the second family member to be involved in a possible gang-related shooting, as should have been the case with his younger brother Mitchell Davis Jr. in May.
EDIT: At Bloody Elbow we try to break the news as it comes out and are careful not to skew the stories in any particular direction. Green’s younger brother was shot dead in a shooting related to gang violence earlier this year. Bobby has been very open about the incident in interviews. When this brother was shot, the story was given special attention as we only had to go by Bobby’s Facebook posts, which is why I used the words “what could be a gang-related shooting”. There was no malicious intent here, but I sincerely apologize to Mr. Green and his family for any misunderstandings/misinterpretations that my choice of language may have caused. I’ve updated the post with some tweets from Bobby to let our readers know that this shooting had nothing to do with a gang.

Man, they just shot my brother
It’s unclear what physical condition his brother is in, but judging by the comments attached to the post, he appears to have survived the shooting. Bobby goes on to refer to the areas he grew up in and currently resides in:

Green, who most recently fought Josh Thomson to a decision win and is currently on a 4-0 run within the UFC, only recently took the time to cope with grief over the death of his younger brother in recent months , as reported by MMA Junkie;

I didn’t have time to really sit back and think about it.” “I’m going to visit his grave and really express my pain,” Green said. “I’ve been so busy and busy – because I only started the fight with 12 days’ notice – you don’t have time to do all these different things. Report UFC Fighter Bobby Green’s Other Brother Shot, Second in Five Months
UFC fighter Bobby Green has faced tremendous personal distress in recent months after first losing a brother to a drive-by shooting in May and shooting another brother in recent days, according to a report by Steph Daniels of BloodyElbow.com.
Although details about the new shooting are few at this time, Green posted a video to his Facebook page in which he admits his brother was shot but thankfully survived.
Green’s younger brother, Mitchell Davis, Jr., did not survive the May shooting.
Green last fought in July, winning a split decision over Josh Thomson at UFC on FOX 12. It was a fight that left many wondering why he would take it after his brother’s shooting.
“For those who don’t know, my brother was killed, four family members were shot at the same time. That’s the only reason I actually accepted the fight. To do my brother that honor, put him on the stage and say he was a good boy,” Green explained after the fight. “He was my closest soldier to me. He was my little brother. It was very difficult to deal with that pain.”

Thankfully, Green doesn’t have to deal with the loss of another sibling, as he thinks his other brother got through.
Though extremely vague in his comments, Green said in his Facebook post, “What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong, and we can’t stand for that any further. We won’t accept that. I refuse to undo this. So I’m going to do something about this crime. It’s the movement. It’s the movement.”
Green’s camp was not available for comment at the time of publication.
